Academic Commission:

This commission is responsible for the procedural academic aspects of the Programme, while the Full Board of the Programme is responsible for the decisions regarding issues that could entail permanent institutional repercussions.

Grant Commission:

CComposed of the Deputy Coordinator, the coordinators of the Lines of Research, two professors of the Collegiate and a substitute, this commission is responsible for the distribution of student grants and the monitoring of graduates that receive them (i.e., find solutions for doubts about the organisation of the student’s report, monitor project evaluation and viva deadlines etc). projetos, etc.The criteria for the distribution of grants follows the student’s ranking in the masters and doctorate selection process of the admission year in question, under the condition that the candidate is in not in employment.

Self-assessment and Planning Commission:

This commission organises the self-assessment of the sectors of PPGH, the weakness to be overcome and how to deploy potential, through surveys and questionnaires applied to the students, staff, and professors, providing the Programme the results.

Student Support Commission:

Created in February 2023, through the merger between the Leavers Commission and the Permanence Policy Commission, due to the understanding that PPGH/UERJ students need to be accompanied and supported during and after the master’s and doctorate courses. The objectives are: 1) Create an interface between the graduate and undergraduate courses, dealing with student’s doubts, mainly those from affirmative action policy students; 2) Give support in dealing with problems related to violence and/or mental health of students, referring them to UERJ’s medical or judicial support sectors; 3) Advise the general coordination about solutions and implementation of measures that support students, seeking to promote student’s permanence on the Programme’s courses; 4) Oversee the production of Programme’s current students, following production goals recommended by UERJ’s Institutional Development Plan, by CAPES and by PPGH’s Collegiate; 5) Analyse the careers of PPGH leavers, intending to identify their academic and/or technical production, as well as where they are carrying out their professional activities; 6) Propose integration activities for students and leavers.

International Commission:

This commission aims to foster organisational structures that allow to give visibility to the programme abroad, and also, ways to interact more dynamically with foreign institutions through providing physical space, organising video conferences and lectures with foreign professors, and also student or teaching staff exchange, whether it be as a visiting scholar or for post-doctorate programmes.

Editorial Commission of Revista Maracanan

The Executive commission of the Revista Maracanan, quarterly periodical of PPGH-UERJ, is made up of one professor that acts as Head Editor, by Deputy Editors, and two grant under-graduates and volunteers from the master’s and doctorate programmes, following good practice guidelines for scientific publication and using the system double-blind review.
